Remote Perceptions by Angela Thompson Smith

WHAT IS REMOTE VIEWING?

Remote Viewing has had a 30+ year history of research and development by North American and International universities, research centers, government, military and business organizations. According to the International Remote Viewing Association (IRVA) "Remote viewing is a trained method of accessing hidden information about an object, person or place using something other than the known five senses". Remote viewing trains and develops an innate or instinctual skill commonly known as intuition. The concept of an innate intuitive ability is accepted by most business organizations. One of the definitions of intuition is the ability to perceive or know things without conscious reasoning.

THE WESSEX REMOTE VIEWING GROUP (WRVG)

The Wessex Remote Viewing Group (WRVG) had its beginnings in 1994 (formerly the Nevada Remote Viewing Group - NRVG) as a training and consulting group. Remote viewing is a method which utilizes a human cognitive skill more commonly known as intuition in the business world. Remote viewing training does not cause someone to become intuitive but it does help an individual to use their natural ability more effectively.

After 15 years in the remote viewing field the WRVG has trained hundreds of individuals from all walks of life in many remote viewing modalities. The group has also carried out a wide variety of consulting projects ranging from business applications, life skills development, and the location of objects and missing people. The WRVG was one of the first civilian remote viewing groups to provide paid consulting work to trained remote viewers. The WRVG continues to provide quality, confidential and timely projects to groups and organizations around the world.

My client projects and writing work are keeping me very busy and I am not currently planning any remote viewing courses. I am also reviewing what I teach and how I teach and whether putting the time and effort into teaching the military method (CRV) is an efficient use of my time and energy. CRV is very time and effort intensive for both the teacher and the students. Also, in my experience, very few students go on to include CRV in their future practice of remote viewing, instead falling back on more intuitive methods or adapting the CRV protocol to their own needs. Not that there is anything wrong with these approaches, only that teaching the CRV process involves a great deal of investment from the teacher and students and this appears to be lost once training ends. A wider, more diverse approach is perhaps justified.

In the meantime, I am donating a series of morning and evening interactive talks at a local spiritual center (Aura Sutra: Boulder City) and will be continuing my involvement with the Scottish CRV group at Loch Lomond which will continue to offer training. Please remember that there are many remote viewing teachers offering both CRV and other methods and, once I have rethought my own approach, I may offer classes in Comparative RV Methods in the fall.
